Day 1 Kunming Arrival (-/-/D)

Program: Green Lake Park

Welcome to Spring City--Kunming. You will be met and transferred to your hotel for one night. If time permits you can stroll around the Green Lake Park.

Green Lake is one of the most picturesque parks in downtown Kunming. In November and December every winter, huge flock of red-beaked gulls migrates here from Siberia. Around the park, there are also many excellent bars and restaurants. Since the park is the only one that stays open until 10pm, it is an ideal place for enjoying some Kunming nightlife. Of course, at any other time, the park is always worth a stroll.

Dinner is arranged at local Chinese restaurant. Overnight at Kunming hotel.

Day 2 Kunming/Dali (B/L/D)

Program: Three pagodas, Erhai Lake, The Golden Shuttle Island

 After having breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Dali. The tour of this day starts from the famous Three Pagodas.

The Three Pagodas: it is about 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) northwest of the ancient city of Dali, occupying a scenic location at the foot of Mt. Cangshan facing Erhai Lake, has a history of over 1,800 years. It is a symbol of the history of Dali City, and a record of the development of Buddhism in the area. As its name implies, the Three Pagodas consits of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle. This is unique in China. Three Pagodas, Zhaozhou Bridge of Hebei Province, and Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian, Shaanxi Province, are three curiosities of Chinese ancient architecture. A visit to The Three Pagodas should not be missed by any visitor to Dali City.

After having lunch at local Chinese restaurant, go to enjoy Erhai Lake cruise.

Erhai Lake: it is the largest highland lake next to Dianchi and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. It means, "Sea shaped like an ear", in Chinese. Implying that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea, hence it was so named. The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. It is like a crescent lying between Cangshan and Dali city as seen from Cangshan Mount. In a sunny day, the crystal waters of Erhai Lake and the snow mantled Cangshan Mount radiate with each other. Thus the scene was commonly described as "Silver Cangshan and Jade Erhai".)

Then visit The Golden Shuttle Island (local temple, fishermen village, market).

Golden Shuttle Island: it is also called the Island of the Sea, lies in the southeast part of Erhai Lake and stands far apart opposite the Erhai Park at a distance. Lying 13 km. away from Xiaguan Harbour, it is one of the scenic spots for a boat ride in the lake. The island is 1,500 meters in length and 20 m. to 500 m. in width. The west is wide and the middle is narrow, so it looks like a shuttle or floating calabash, hence its name. The island is full of caverns and precipitous cliffs.

 Have dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Landscape Hotel (Lanlingge Hotel).

Day 3 Dali/Weishan/Dali (B/L/D)

Program: Weibao Mountain

Have breakfast at hotel. And then drive to Weishan(3 hours),a small town of Bai nationality,visit Weibao Mountain.

Weibao Mountain: Located in the south of Weishan County about 70 km north of Dali. The mountain looks like a crouching lion that turns its head back and looks at the county seat and the belt-like Guajiang River in the mist. The giant dam of Huanglizui Reservoir at the foot of the mountain is like the lion´s dressing table and the placid water the mirror. Weibao Mountain was the place where Xinuluo, the head of Mengshe Zhao during the early Nanzhao period, rose to power, and it was also an important Daoist mountain in Yunnan.

In the afternoon, drive back to Dali. Lunch and dinner at local Chinese restaurants Overnight at Landscape Hotel (Lanlingge Hotel)

Day 4 Dali/Shaxi/Jianchuan (B/LD)

Program: Shaxi town, Shibaoshan Mountain (Stone Treasure Mountain), Jianchuan County

Have breakfast at hotel. And then drive to Shaxi town, Shibaoshan Mountain and Jianchuan County.

Shaxi town: The remains of an ancient market town and once an active trade stop on the Southern Silk Road that connected Tibet and China with Southeast Asia and on to Europe. This Road is actually older than the more famous Silk Road (in the North), predating it by at least 300 years. Shaxi has been listed by the World Monuments Fund as one of the world´s 100 most endangered sites. The Shaxi Market is the only surviving example of such an entrepot, complete with an intact theater, guesthouses, a temple precinct, and protective gates.

Then back to Visit Shibaoshan Mountain (Stone Treasure Mountain) The Shibaoshan rock carvings are over 1300 years old and evidence of the spread of Mahayana Buddhism into Yunnan from Tibet. Representations of the bodhisattva Guanyin and other Buddhist images are carved into the rocky mountainside. Spend a day at the grottoes or just hike around the temples through the lush forest -- perhaps you will be lucky enough to come across a group of monkeys.

In the afternoon, we drive to Jianchuan County to have a good rest. Jianchuan County is at north part of Dali district, it is 126 kilometers away from Dali municipality, No.214 national way passing through county area. Shibaoshan Mountain sight scene district is important composition of Dali national grade sight scene area. In 2002, Sidengjie of Shaxi, Jianchuan County was listed as severe dangerous architecture relics of the world, and Jianchuan County is listed as an example county as provincial and national grade "Yunnan experiment of west China culture resource preservation and industrial development".

Day 5 Jianchuan/Lijiang (B/L/-)

Program: Lijiang Old City (Old Town of Lijiang)

Have breakfast at hotel. In the morning, drive to Lijiang(3 hours). The other time free at your leisure and you can stroll on the Old Town of Lijiang.

Old Town of Lijiang: A well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture. Located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters above the sea level and embraced by the tree-covered Lion Mountain in the west, Elephant and Golden Row Mountains in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast and crystal clear water running through, the old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore got the alias the Town of Big Ink Slab. Lijiang was placed on the world cultural heritage list in 1997.

Day 6 Lijiang (B/L/D)

Program: Black Dragon Pool, Shuhe Village, Naxi village.

Have breakfast at hotel. In the morning, visit the Black Dragon Pool.

Black Dragon Pool: it is located at the foot of the Xiangshan Mountain (Elephant Hill) north of the city of Lijiang. As the water here is a lucid green color, it gained another name Jade Spring Park (Yuquan Park). There are many distinctive and ravishing sites in the park. Hiding in the lush trees or standing along the liquid pool is the antique and exquisite architectural pieces, which are in the style of Naxi.

-Shuhe Village: Four kilometers (2 miles) to the northwest of the Old Town of Lijiang, at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, lies a compact village hidden in the forest, the Old Town of Shuhe. UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has listed it as an important component of Lijiang as it is a well-preserved example of a town along the ancient tea route and one of the earliest settlements of the ancestors of Naxi people. It is called ´the hometown of springs´. Ambling along Sifang Street, you will feel time slowly flowing backwards. Though it is only 30 meters long (32 yards), the smooth flagstone remind you of their flourishing past. Listen carefully, you can even hear the light ringing sound of busy horses' hooves from far away places.

Day 7 Lijiang/Kunming/Departure (B/-/-)

Have breakfast at hotel. Take a morning flight back to Kunming and connect flights to your next destination.
