7 Days Tibet Lhasa To Kathmandu Overland Join-In Tour Include Lhasa, Yamdrok And E.B.C.

Day 1: Meet you at Lhasa Airport or Train Station, and transfer you to your hotel.

Program:
Lhasa Train station/airport picking up, You are warmly welcome to Tibet by saying Tashi Delek at the Train station/airport by our professional employee and send you to reserved hotel in Lhasa. Then have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude in the afternoon.

Day 2: All day Lhasa Highlights: Potala Palace,Jokhang Temple,Barkhor Street, Thangka workroom.

Program:
Morning section to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens(stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala etc. Afternoon section visiting to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during songtsen gonpo’s reign by princess Wencheng of tang dynasty, 647 A.D, and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc. you will have chance to get close to appreciate how the artists draw Thangkas at the Thakangka workroom at Barkor.
Optional program in Lhasa: At night, you may ask your tour guide to arrange the local Tibetan opera show at Shobalamu Tibetan Restaurant, you will enjoy traditional food and local beverage while watching the wonderful show, 180RMB/person.

Day 3: Today we will have further discovery of Lhasa to Drepung Monastery,Carpet Factory, Sera Monastery

Program:
Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera.
Drepung monastery is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once home of 10000 monks and Ganden podrang in Drepung is famous it was the government centre during fifth dalai lama and later moved to the famous Potala Palace during fifth dalai lama. Then you will visit the Carpet Factory, you can see how the world-famous Tibetan carpets are made. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is that Monks debiting is held there in the courtyard at around 15:30 in the afternoon section most of the time except Saturday and Sunday.

Day 4: Today we drive through Nyangchu Valley to Shigatse, and visit Holy Lake - Yamdrok Lake.

Program:
Passing by the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdro-tso lakes, karo-la glacier roadside at 4960m, we move westwards to the second biggest city Shigatse, the Area spiritually hosted by Pamchan Lama. The most important attraction for today is Yamdro-tso Lake and Kubum monastery in Gyantse. Yamdro-tso Lake is shaped like coiling scorpion with deep blue in colour and Kubum monastery has a 35m-high chorten (stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and its crown-like golden dome.

Day 5: Before we depart Shigatse, we will visit Tashilunpo monastery. After that, we will drive to Rongphu Monastery for for E.B.C.

Program:
In the morning, we will visit the largest Monastery in west Tibet, the Tashilunpo monastery, as the last but famous historic sites for your Tibet tour. Tashilunpo monastery is one of the six great Gelukpa institutions and was founded in 1447 by a disciple of Tsongkapa, containing the world's largest gilded copper image(26m high) of future god Jampa. Then drive westwards the Friendship way to Tingri. There is about 90km bumpy road from Tingri to Rongpuk Monastery, road is under construction. from Tingri to E.B.C with the very rough road, pass the wild grassland, cross the river and high mountains. If it is in clear whether, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, such as: Mt. Lhotse(8516m),Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Qowowuyag(8201m),Mt Mayalu(8463m).

Accommodation: Rongphu Monastery Tent or Guest House (limited accommodation conditions, no running water, no shower room)

Day 6: Sunrise in Rongphu Monastery, then visit Everest Base Camp. In the afternoon drive via Shegar to Zhangmu Town.

Program:

Early in the morning to see the sunrise from Rongpuk then to view Mt. Everest. It is fabulous and splendid. After walking arrive the place get on the local bus then use half of an hour arrive at Everest Base camp ( Or you also can trekking to Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. It's interesting and much warmer, but hard to breathe). Hiking up to the top of the photo point to take pictures of the splendid- Mt. Everest. Then late in the afternoon around 13:00 go down from E.B.C back to Shegar. Then you will go west to Zhangmu with our tour guide.

Day 7: Dropping off at the Zhangmu border bridge. End of Service.

Program:
Our Guide will drop you off in the morning at the border bridge, you are kindly required to hike on your own to cross the border bridge which is 50ms long, then check in Nepal side, you can get the Nepal visa upon arrival with 30USD, please prepare one photo at passport size to get Nepal Visa. Next step, you need to find a car or bus towards Kathmandu, 50ms ahead from border bridge, dozens of cars or buses are parking here to pick up travelers;3000 Nepali Rupee for a taxi rental to Kathmandu(50USD), 50 Nepali Rupee(Appro.1USD)  for a bus seat.
End tour at Nepalese Border.
