-ShanhuaTemple: The grandiose, bracketed wooden
halls in this forgotten temple date back nearly 900 years to the 12th century.
-HuayanTemple: It is divided into two separate
complexes, one of which is an active monastery (the upper temple); the other
being a museum (the lower temple)

Program: Drive to WutaishanMountain in your private car; visit
the Hanging Monastery and the WoodenTower on the way.
Stay overnight on the Wutainshan.
-Hanging Monastery: Built precariously into the side of a cliff, the
Buddhist Hanging Monastery is made all the more stunning by the long support
stilts that extend downward from its base, furthering the appearance that there
really isn't a whole lot keeping the structure from one day smashing to bits in
the riverbed below
-Mu Ta: The 11th century Wooden Pagoda is one of the planet's oldest
wooden buildings. Not a single nail was used in the construction of the nine-storey,
67m-high structure, which has
thus fare survived seven major earthquake

Wutaishan / Pingyao

Program: Have a tour on the Mt. Wutaishan
covering the Bodhisattva Peak, the Tayuan Temple and the Xiantong Temple, drive
to Pingyao in the afternoon. Stay overnight in Pingyao.
-Mt. Wutaishan: It's regarded as one of the four famous Buddhist mountains
in China, the other three being Mt. Emei in Sichuan Province, Putuo in Zhejiang
Province, Jiuhua in Anhui Province. The names of those mountains came from five
peaks - CentralPeak,
EastPeak,
WestPeak,
WestPeak,
SouthPeak,
and NorthPeak.
-TayuanTemple:
One of Wutaishan's most symbolic sights, the TayuanTemple
(Tayuan si) is most famous for housing the Great White Pagoda (Da baita). This
bottle shaped pagoda, rising to 50 meters in height, is painted a creamy white
all over. The construction is from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD), and from
its top hangs a total of 250 bronze bells, that make exotically eerie sounds
whenever the wind blows.
-XiantongTemple:
One of the more captivating temples is the enormous XiantongTemple.

Program: Whole day tour to the Piangyao
Ancient Town which covering the Ancient City Walls, the Ming & Qing Street,
the Rishengchang Financial House Museum and the Shuanglin Temple.
-ShuanglinTemple: It contains rare Song and Yuan
painted statues
-AncientCity Walls: It is the protective wall
which can be dated to early Ming Dynasty
-The Mingqing Street:
It is the downtown thoroughfare and reserved quite well of the styles in the
Ming and Qing Dynasties.
-Rishengchang Financial House Museum: It is the first of many draft banks,
which operates from the city.

Program: Drive to Taiyuan
from Pingyao, have a tour to the Qiao Family Courtyard House on the way; visit
the JinciTemple after arrival. Be
transferred to Taiyuan train station in the
evening and catch your overnight train to Beijing.
-The Qiao Family Courtyard House: With 8724 square meter, it is one of the
best reserved Qing Dynasty residential architecture in Pinyao.
-JinciTemple:
Dating from AD 1023, this Buddhist temple is at the source of the JinRiver
and is a good start for those who interested in Shanxi impressive collection of ancient
wooden buildings
