Hi Wenny,
I apologise for not replying sooner, but we have both been away on business this week and this is the first opportunity to respond to you I can honestly say that our trip around China was an experience of a life time mainly due to the expertise and friendliness of the guides put together by yourself and Discovery China Tours. Each guide in Hong Kong, Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai and Macau gave fascinating insights into the old and new China taking us to great sites and the images will remain with us forever. Feedback on 22th April:
Thank you, Wenny, Our first day in China was very well organised and interesting - Great Wall, Jade Shop and Silk Shop. Our guide was excellent by the name of Justin. Tomorrow we will be collected early in the morning again for a tour of Central Beijing. All is going very well and my sister and I are happy. Everything is going extremely well and the tour guides have both been very well-informed and helpful. I have purchased a very beautiful jade braclet and herbal medicines from two of our shopping stops on the tour. Thank you, Kind regards, Ronald Feedback on 3rd May: Hello Wenny, Yes, we are back in Calif. after a wonderful travel experience in China. Everything went so very smoothly with excellent guides (Sizy and Jolin were both so very nice). I was very impressed with the organisation of our tour. There were absolutely no complications about pick ups at airports or train stations or days out touring - A JOB VERY WELL DONE!!!!!! My sister and I discussed one possible alteration that we would make if we were to do it again. That is, as there were so many sites to visit in Beijing, we could have used an extra day there and one less in Shanghai. The 2 days in Xi'an was just the right amount of time. Dear Wenny, Many thanks for your email. I just got at my place in Thailand. The tour was great and we have amazing memories. During the flight back my parents and I though about a feedback for you. Here it is: BEIJING: Hotel perfect. Lily ( our tour guide ) great. She siggested us an extra tour with a dinner with locals. It was great. Driver very good.
XIAN: Our tour guide Micheal was very good. The driver was not so good as he was driving in a unsafe way. He took wrong ways a couple of time.
GUILIN: Hotel... just amazing!!! :-) Samantha, our tour guide, very very good but she didnt provide for water for us in the van ( the others did it! ) Driver.. good!
KUMNING: Hotel good. Our tour guide very very good. We liked the way he showed us the Stone forest. ( but he didnt provide for water as well ) Also, I dont know what happend about lunch that day but thanks for arrange a great dinner for us. Yak meat was delicious! :-)
LIJIANG ( my favorite place!!!!! ) Hotel super amazing. Driver good and very comfortable van. Yang, our tour guide, is a very very kind and polite boy. He should improve his English and try not to be shy. I talked to him and he told me that he just started with this job. So I gave him my email so he can practice a bit with his English... and I am sure he will improve. But anyway, we liked his attitude! :-) He also provide water for us and he gave us so many sweets and chocolates because my dad didnt feel very good because of the altitude :-)
CHENGDU The hotel is a bit old but we loved the buffet breakfast!! Just amazing! The driver was very good and the van was super comfortable. Rowling our tour guide is a such a nice lady. She did a good job. She didnt provide for water. Also, I think you need to check the restaurant at LeShan. We think they tried to cheat on us and on Rowling as well. Ms Rowling proposed us to buy a fish as extra dish because she said that it is the speciality. We did it. They said that it was 138RM for 500gr. So we said, ok let's get the small one just to taste it. So Rowling and I went to choose the fish. It was very small. I am sure it wasnt more than 500/600gr also because in our hot pot there was just a few bites of fish. So after our lunch they wanted us to pay 354 for this fish. That means 1kg and 200gr. This is not possibile. They didnt weight it. They even said to Rowling that the fish was 1kg and 500gr which it is not true. As our budget was only 140 Rm we couldn't pay the rest. So Rowling paid the rest. She has been very nice but I guess you need to be careful with them. This is just a suggestion. I hope this help. I will write some nice comments + pictures on the website as soon as I download all the pictures I took :-)
About TIbet.. yes, it is in our plan. I have just a few question. Do you arrange everything for the Tibetan permit? How does it work? Also, How long does it take and cost the train from Chengdu to Lhasa? Or, is it possibile to reach Lhasa by car going from Lijiang, Shangri-la and then Tibet?

Hi, Wenny!!
We had a really great vacation. The itinerary was great and we had a taste of China. The guides were great too, specially Run, in Shanghai. He was very patient and eager to help. He turned our visit into a very pleasant and special experience. All guides were knowledgeable, always on time, and in Guangzhou, the guide Nancy was very nice to us. She managed to change our train time and went after the driver to get a bag we forgot in the van. The only visit we didn´t care very much was Huaqing Hot Springs. We walked straight to a wall with pictures of the generals. The guide told everything about politics and we went away. We saw no springs, no water… Restaurants were very good in general. Hotels were very good, but at Baron Business Hotel, breakfast was not good. It took too long for the staff to replace food. There was not enough coffee. We had to wait for everything!! Also, Yangshuo New Century Hotel was in a very good location, but there were holes on the towels… It was a very comfortable trip, since DCT was able to make everything “work” for us. We had all the assistance and information we needed, everything was very well planned and executed. Guides were very helpful and always on time. I recommend DCT!! One suggestion for Shanghai tour: include the TV tower!! It´s a highlight! Every tourist should climb it. Wenny, you were always ready to help, and answered all e-mails very quickly. Hello Molly, I just got back to the USA from my trip with Hailey in China. We had a wonderful time. I was so impressed with the kindness and helpfulness of the Chinese people. Most of all, I fell in love with the Chinese food. Absolutely delicious. I want to buy an authentic Chinese cookbook so I can replicate some of the meals I had in China. One of my favorite things to do is cook. Maybe you can suggest such a cookbook, in English........ I want to thank you, so very much, for all the help you gave Hailey and I in making our trip a memorable one. We loved the tours.........our tour guides and drivers were wonderful. In Beijing, our tour guide was Sisi and in Xian, our tour guide was Jason. I would highly recommend both of them for future trips. Their wealth of information was appreciated. Welearned a lot while having fun. It was especially memorable that we were in China during the Chinese New Year. We were actually in Pingyao the day of the celebration. The city was beautiful with all its decorations. I would highly recommend visitors going to Pingyao. Quite different from the large cities of Beijing and Xian. Thank you again for
