1 Day Wuxi-Suzhou Highlight Tour

Be picked up at hotel lobby, and then transfer to Suzhou by private vehicle. After about an hour driving from Shanghai Nongbo Highway, you will arrive in Suzhou. Your Suzhou trip starts from a cruise on the Grand Canal by boat, then you will visit the Panmen Gate. After lunch, visiting the Lingering Garden, and the No.1 Silk Factory. Be transferred back to your hotel in Wuxi.

- Grand Canal: The Grand Canal of Suzhou Section is one of the Grand Canal of Beijing and Hangzhou, and also a well-preserved section. It looks like a jade belt encircling Suzhou ancient city. Thanks to the canal, Suzhou became a paradise for for the merchants in ancient time.

- Pan Gate: The gate was originally built in Spring and Sutumn Period in 513 B.C and the present preserved gate was repaired in large scale in Yuan Dynasty of the year 1351 and partially repaired in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It has more than 2500 years history. It is the only well preserved water-and-land city gate in the world now. The current gate was reconstructed in 1351. It consists of Water and Land Gates, city gate tower and city walls at both sides. Now the gate is coverred by moss and plants, which add more historical atmosphere. Panmen Gate is the only one well-preserved ancient gate tied for land and water. It was a great achievement in the old time to war armament and flood control.

- Lingering Garden: The garden is separated into the middle, eastern, northern and western parts connecting with beautiful corridors of 700 meters long. Of the four parts, the central part is the essence of the whole complex. The overall construction of this garden has features with artificial hills, limestone of different shapes, exquisite pavilions and a plenty of attractive buildings.

-The No.1 Silk Factory: Suzhou's silk enjoys great fame in China, even in the globe. Visiting Suzhou, the No. 1 Silk Factory is recommended. It has 7000 square meters silk shopping mall and 3000 square meters dining places, which grealy provide convenience to visitors at home and abroad.
