Direct Air Route Launched Between Chengdu and Kuala Lumpur

The 11th international route to Chengdu, direct route between Chengdu and Kuala Lumpur has been launched recently by AirAsia.

There are four flights each week for this route on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. And the single trip will take four hours and forty minutes.

According to Edzuar Zar Ayob, the tourism consul of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board Shanghai office, each year there are 40,000 tourists visit Kuala Lumpur from Sichuan province. It is estimated that this number will increase by 20%-30% after the launch of the direct air route.

Yang Ming from Sichuan Comfort International Travel Service also sees a promising future. The direct flight will save tourists the time needed to transfer in Guangzhou, Singapore, or Thailand, and also reduce the price of air tickets. He thinks the number of tourists wills double or even triple with the launch of this flight.
