Taiwan to Raise Fuel Surcharges from Mid June

As a result of the increase of aviation fuel prices, Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration announced that local airlines can raise fuel surcharges for long and short haul international flights by 25% from June 15, 2009.
For short-haul flights, airlines can raise the fuel surcharges by USD 2.5 to USD12.5 per person, while on long-haul flights fares can be increased by USD6.5 to USD32.5 per person. It will come into effect in the middle of this June. Taiwan CAA said in the announcement that CPC Corporation has raised the price of aviation for June to USD72.43 per barrel. |
