The Beibuwan Bay Tourism Development Program has gained the approval of a committee of experts in Beijing. It will boost the international tourism cooperation of Beibuwan Bay.

The bay covers the coastal areas of Guangxi, Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, and western Hainan Island in China, as well as the northern coastal areas of Vietnam. According to the program, Beibuwan will be among the world's top tourism destinations by 2020.

The core area refers to Nanning, Fangchenggang, Qinzhou and Beihai in Guangxi, with coastal and beach landscape. And the pan-Beibuwan Bay circle covers the pan-Pear River Delta and ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, The Philippines, Thailand, and Cambodia.
