Hainan Tourism Group wants to change its current pattern of tourism by planning nine key projects. Currently, tourism of Hainan is strong is the south and east, and weak in the north and west.

The nine projects are sea tours, Xisha tours, Changjiang Qiziwan Tourist resort, Bawangling Tropical Rainforest Park, Mingzhu Plaza and duty free shops, a tourism support program for the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center, Yanuoda tourism infrastructure investment program, a tourism lottery, and recreational vehicle camping grounds.

It is also preparing to launch the development of a Hainan Tourism Industry Fund, a sports lottery, an ocean park, a large-scale mangrove, tourist attraction and other programs.
