Sina.com reported, Antaeus Group has started construction of its Mangrove Tree Resort in Sanya Bay and having had changes to its design. It is expected to be the first branded casino hotel in mainland China.

It says the hotel will also build a sport betting venue and a casino for future use. And even the oxygen supply system needed for the casino has been taken into consideration now.

This Sanya Bay Mangrove Tree Resort will have more than 5,600 guest rooms, and guests will be able to gamble directly or to bet via direct video broadcast.

At present, lotteries are the only form of betting allowed on Hainan Island. However, it is expected casinos may be permitted in the future to help boost the development of the island as a tourist destination.
