Taiwan Aims To Attract 4.8 Million Tourists In 2010

It is reported that Taiwan Tourism Bureau has published its plan for 2010; it aims to develop 100 linked tourist routes to attract 4.8 million tourists in 2010 and over 5 million in 2011.

In order to reach its goal, the bureau will focus on 100 linked routes, the original Taiwan, and boutique value-added services to plan a series of activities such as the Taiwan Lantern Festival and the Taiwan Hot Spring Fine-Cuisine Carnival. The 100 routes will feature ten different tourism elements and will be chosen by a work group organized by the bureau.

Wu Den-yih, the Taiwan’s Premier, said a good tourism environment needs a joint efforts of many departments working together, such as immigration service at international airports and an update of road signs.
