Recently the China Tourism Association Tourist City (Northwest) Collaborative Meeting was held in Xian. The 30 participating cities jointly announced they had formed the China Outstanding Tourist City (Northwest) Collaboration.

A series of actions will be launched, such as promoting barrier-free travel, distributing each other’s promotional materials, establishing links to each others’ travel sites, jointly conducting promotional activities and jointly developing tourist products. At the same time, the 30 cities will organize visits by citizens to other member cities through "the Northwest visiting the Northwest" project. Also they will cooperate on setting up tourism complaint handling channels.

It is a significant trend to cooperate interregional in worldwide economic and industrial development. There are many tourism cooperative or collaborative organizations across China. This new organization, the China Outstanding Tourist City (Northwest) Collaboration, is expected to accelerate the development of tourism industries of tourist cities in northwestern China.
