CAAC Publishes Stats on Airline Performance in China
Update: 5/18/2010   Source: China Hospitality News
As a part of its campaign against late flights, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has published statistics on the delays of domestic airlines and the corresponding flight numbers.

Based on the statistics of CAAC, from February 10 to April 30, 2010, there were 102 flight delays at Beijing Capital International Airport, 93 at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, 45 at Shanghai Pudong Airport, and 41 at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. And it shows that in late April, only 13.3% of the CZ6996 flights operated by China Southern from Hongqiao to Urumqi were on time, while Air China's CA1726 scheduled flight from Guangzhou to Hangzhou almost never took off on time during the same period.

The five airlines that experienced the most flight delays were China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines, China Southern, Air China, and Spring Airlines.

According to the relevant rules in China, an airline company who received two warnings for flight delays in one month will be penalized.

From February to December 2010, CAAC is carrying out a special campaign against flight delays focusing on the airports in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
