Taiwan's Sun Moon Lake Receives 700,000 Mainland Tourists

The largest natural lake in Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake received the number of visitor arrivals from Chinese mainland hit 7000,000 in the first seven months this year.

According to the report, the average number of mainland visitors was between 3,000 and 4,000 per day. The increasing number of mainland tourists has helped boost the scenic spot's income and food and gift consumption.

Based on industry analysts, mainland tourists have contributed at least CNY4 billion consumption income for the island, with each spending CNY7, 000 at most.

The Sun Moon Lake is regarded as the pearl of central Taiwan.
