On July 21st, the last group of pandas evacuates from Wolong China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) and arrives at Ya´an Bifengxia Base at about 8:00pm.
There are 13 giant pandas in this evacuation. They depart from Wolong to Bifengxia at 8:30am on July 21st, passing by NO. 210 Provincial Road, Balang Mountain and Jiajin Mountain.
At Bifengxia Base, 8 sets, 16 mobile houses and a kindergarten have been built for these pandas. Every mobile house occupies over 100 sq. km and the area of the kindergarten is 300 sq. km.
It is known that Wenchuan earthquake brings great damage to CCRCGP. Transportation, power and water supply, communication network became crippled. And it is difficult for the giant panda´s survival. Since May 18th, CCRCGP began to evacuate pandas out of Wolong in groups.
At present, there have been 7 pandas born in 2007 at Wolong. They will be transferred to the beautiful enclosure between Wolong Town Government and Wolong Primary School in the following days.
To make sure their feeding, medical care and management, 11 employees stay at Wolong, including keepers, veterinarian and administrative employees.
