Tibet Autonomous Region is estimated to receive more than 2 million domestic tourists this year, bringing a total revenue of about two and a quarter billion Yuan.
The tourism industry in Tibet took a hit from the March riots in Lhasa and the May earthquake in Wenchuan in neighbouring Sichuan province. It´s now on the mend.
The Linzhi region, one of the most beautiful places in Tibet, has seen a big increase in tourist numbers over previous years. Tibet has launched winter promotional tourism campaigns, and reduced resort tickets in Linzhi, Lhasa and Xigaze.
