Marco Polo Wuhan Open For Business
Source from: Source from:China Hospitality News
12/29/2008

The 380-room five-star Marco Polo Wuhan has opened on the urban riverfront, in close proximity to the business district area and just thirty minutes drive from Wuhan Airport.

With most of its rooms offering panoramic views of the Yangtze River, this five-star business hotel is Marco Polo´s fourth hotel in China. In addition to modern business amenities and Continental Club floor facilities, the hotel provides a choice of dining options with International, Asian, and Chinese cuisine, plus meeting and conference venues that can accommodate up to 800 persons. A recreation complex includes an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center and massage facilities.

Henk Meyknecht, the general manager of the Marco Polo Wuhan, stated that he thought that the future of luxurious hotels in China is about differentiation and that Marco Polo needs to build five star hotels with a unique theme. He added that simply building five star hotels without true character would no longer be appreciated by a new generation of highly demanding Chinese travelers.

Meynecht said that the young and upwardly mobile lifestyle consumers in China demand to be surprised by design, atmosphere, style, and ambiance; and he said that he thought that Marco Polo Wuhan is a hotel with character and he believed their guests would love it.
