The Beijing Tourism Administration has initiated a number of measures to stimulate the city´s tourism market during the coming Spring Festival.

Zhang Huihuang, the director of BTA, stated that the Beijing tourism theme for the coming Spring Festival will be "Beijing Invites You for the New Year" and a number of interactive activities will be organized to enhance the city´s tourism market during the Spring Festival period.

To kick-off this tourism theme, the city will implement a series of measures, including inviting compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau to come for the Spring Festival in Beijing; inviting tourists from Beijing´s neighboring cities to spend the Chinese New Year in the capital; inviting tourists from all over the country to spend the Spring Festival in the capital; and strengthening the supervision of the tourism market during the period.

The preferential policies Beijing will offer to complement the tourism theme include giving away 30,000 free door tickets to tourists, offering 20%-40% discounts on entrance tickets to major scenic spots, giving 20,000 free tickets for temple fairs, providing 20,000 free guidebooks for consumers and offering 1,000 free hotel rooms.

BTA says that travel agencies that receive the most tourists and achieve the highest revenue during the Spring Festival will be rewarded.
