China Travel NewsBaiyun Airport will receive about CNY977 million for expansion this year.
According to the news comes from local media, Guangdong province will invest a total of CNY1.708 billion in airport construction in 2009, of which CNY977 million will be given to Baiyun Airport.
Baiyun Airport will reportedly mainly spend the money on renovating facilities in its terminal building, including increasing the number of the security check channels from the current 25 to 67.
Baiyun Airport´s freight station will be completed and put into operation in June 2009, and the construction of the Dongsan and Xisan Corridors will be completed in September 2009 while the business terminal building and the No. 1 terminal building will be finished before the 2010 Asia Games.
