Brief Introduction :
The Hsiang River is the mother river of Hunan Province and it is one of the main branches in the middle reach of Yangtze River. It had been said that the Hsiang River and the Li River are both origin from the Maoer Mountain in Xing’an County. However, experts made an on-the-spot investigation, they finally found that the real origin of the Hsiang River is located at the Shizhu Village Baishi Town Xing’an County.
On the way to discovering the Origin of Hsiang River, you can appreciate the breathtaking scenery which contains fantastic hills, small villages, paddy fields, flourishing plants and so on. Without noisy crowds, you can enjoy the original rural scenery in the south of China. And then the Origin of the Hsiang River appears in front of you unconsciously. It is unbelievable that the magnificent mother River of Hunan Province originates from such a small stream! It is flowing so peacefully among the hills and village. Some one said that the Origin to the Hsiang River is the childhood to a real hero. Anyway, it is pleasant and not very difficult to get the Origin of Hsiang River.
The Stele of the Origin of Hsiang River is located at the foot of the Jinfeng Hill. There are Chinese characters “Xiang Jiang Yuan” and inscription on the stele. From here, you can see a natural stone which looks like the shape of Chairman Mao sitting on the front De Hill. The villagers believe that it is the avatar of the Chairman Mao who was born in the Hunan Province and found the origin of Xiangjing (Xiang River). Then he is standing here to protect his people. The Origin of Hsiang River and the Courtyard of Family Qin are both located in the Baishi Town, you can visit these two place within a day. Different from the must-see, these two spots are quiet, original and authentic. Especially in autumn, they attract many photographers from cities. It is not exaggerated to note that the Baishi Town is the paradise of photographers and ecological tourists!
