The Guilin Xiongsen Tiger & Bear Base located in Lingui County covers a land area of 500 thousand square meters. It raises four kinds of endangered tigers including the Manchurian tiger, the south China tiger, the Bangladesh tiger and the white tiger with total number of about 270. Meanwhile, the base also raises some kinds animal listed as a protected species, such as 300 back bears, 100 lions, leopards, snakes, monkeys and birds. It is the biggest scientific research institution of tiger and bear in the world. The base has succeeded in breeding and raising hundreds of tigers since it established in 1993.

Thanks to the animal experts’ hard work, the tigers are well protected in both quantity and quality of the species. After the first fifth months, the little tigers have to leave their tiger mothers for the Baby Tiger Nursery. Here, they will spend a long time to learn survival abilities in playing games with each other. Besides, the base makes simulative wild training plans to help them survive even in the wild. The base allows visitors to see the little tigers away a certain distance. You can observe the lovely little tigers and their life habit in the Baby Tiger Nursery.   
 
In the base, there are animal shows every day. The animal “actors” and “actresses” will present you funny, exciting and excellent performances! Because all the performers are domesticated animals, audiences can see surprising performances such as the “bear riding a horse” in the theater. It is especially exciting when the fat bear is walking on a 500 meters long and 20 meters high tightrope. It is very dangerous, right? But don’t be worried, security measures have been taken to protect the bear. Moreover, other animals such as tigers, lions, monkeys, etc. will show themselves on the stage. The performances are very popular with children.
