Guiyang, known as "Zhu" for short, is the capital of Guizhou Province, and a key tourism sity of China, with an area of 8,034 sq km and a population of 3.5 million. Guiyang has neither cold winters, nor hot summers, and its average annual temperature comes to 15.2℃. In 2006, Guiyang was named the "Summer Resort Capital of China".
Green is the basic color of Guiyang, a city on the Yungui Plateau. The forest belt around the city covers an area of 100,.000 hectares; and in 2004, Guiyang was listed as the first "National Forest City of China". Guiyang embraces picturesque mountains, rivers and lakes, secluded valleys and karst caves. Also it gathers a large number of historic sites, such as Jiaxiu Tower, Qianling Mountain ad Ancient Town of Qingyan. In addition the unusual ethnic minority customs and lifestyle make many domestic and foreign tourists show great interest in Guiyang.
