Brief Introduction
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, located 15km north of Lijiang city with an altitude of 5600 meters (18,400 feet), is the highest mountain on the southern bank of the Yangtze River.

The mountain extends 35 km from south to north and 12 km from west to east, producing different altitudes in the mountain. The summit, Shanzidou, is 5596 meters above sea level. Owing to conspicuous three-dimensional climate caused by different altitude, various trees and rare animals living in different climates can live together in this mountain.

The Ganhaizi Grassland is a famous tourist resort situated on the eastern slope of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, an ideal spot to view from the mountain. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a holy mountain for the local Naxi people and now is a famous scenic spot for sightseeing, mountaineering, skiing, exploration, scientific research and taking holiday.

Features
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a sanctuary for rare animals and wild plants. In fact, one fourth of all plant species in China can be found here and 20 primeval forest communities shelter a big family of 400 types of trees and 30 kinds of animals which are protected by the state.
