Brief Introduction
Olive Basin is located in Menlun town which is 37 kilometers from Jinghong along Lancang river direct current place. It covers the area of square kilometers at an altitude of 530 meters (the lowest point of Xishuangbanna).

There is a common saying that: "do not go to Olive Basin, calculate do not get to Xishuangbanna". Though, this word is some to exaggerate, but also have no reason.

Olive Basin spends open four seasons, green mountain green water, Dai domestic bamboo building and Buddha temple cover reflect in coconut forest and green grove in, it is that west two editions fit the place in which the tropical view and house of the Dai nationality of the people most have representative.

Features
Olive Basin is the most representative of the scenery of the subtropical region where the Dai people reside, and is reputed as the "peacocks beautiful tail".

The name for this area derives from the olive-shaped land covered with dense forest, which is covered by betel palms, coconut palms, oil palms and banana trees all year long. Within the forest, bamboo houses on stilts and typical Buddhist pagodas can be seen.

The Olive Basin is a place where man lives with nature in timeless peace.
