Brief Introduction
The Tujia Folk Custom Park is a replica of a typical Tujia village. It was built in 2000 with the intention to introduce visitors to the customs and traditions of the Tujia ethnic minority.

It covers an area of 5 hectares. It is a large-scale cultural tourist attraction, in which the tourists can experience Tujia people´s folk custom in various aspects such as architecture, food, agriculture, military art etc.

The main attractions in the park are the "village square" where key performances such as the Maogusu Dance, a ceremonial dance that was part of a sacrificial ceremony are performed.

Another highlight of the park is the wooden 9-storied Jiuchongtian Hereditary Hall that was constructed on a steep slope without using a single nail was even listed in the Guinness World record. It contains thousands of relics of the Tujia and is the "museum" of all things Tujia. Walking through the park, the tourists stopped by wooden houses that showcased different aspects of the Tujia tribe, from unique embroidery skills to farming techniques and wine-brewing, we experienced the typical life of a Tujia villager. The tourists were also able to view the "crying marriage" ritual and learn more about the customs and traditions of the Tujia ethnic minority.

What´s more, tourists express much admiration on the programs held in the park of its splendid culture and magnificent folk custom. In April, 2001, former premier Zhu Rongji visited the park and gave his lavish comments on it. In Septeber, 2002, the park successfully held a large-scale Maogusi Dance Party, and 1,000 dancers participated. This activity and the Nine-layer Diaojiaolou Building were listed in the Record of World Genis. The park was rated as one of the 4A National Tourist Attraction in China in Januar, 2004.

Tujia Customs Park is located in the famous tourism resort, Zhangjiajie. There are many special cultural activities in the garden, which were highly praised by media at home and abroad and received many national leaders and journalists.
