Brief Introduction
The Boao Area of Hainan Island is intersected by the Eastern Expressway and is about an hour´s drive south of Haikou and about two hour´s from Sanya in the south. The county´s main city, Qionghai, has a population of about 43,000 and offers visitors a wide assortment of accommodations, restaurants and shopping.

The first meeting of the Boao Asia Forum was held in November 2000. The area is also the site of the five-star Boao Golden Coast Hot Spring Hotel and the superb Boao Golf Country Club.
