Brief Introduction
The Earth Forest of Yuanmou is situated in Naben Village, about seven km southeast of Yuanmou County, the north of Yunnan, 201 km. from Kunming, and it is both mysterious and magnificent. The fossil of two upper molars was discovered on May 1,1965. The Yuanmou Man existed about 1.7 million years ago. It was about one million years earlier than Lantian Man and Peking Man.

Some are like old castles of ancient Greece; some are like the magnificent cathedrals of ancient Rome, and others are like temples of ancient China.

There are numerous figures resembling human beings or various kinds of animals and birds. The visitors loitering among the earth mounds are just like people touring in a wonderland. The Earth Forest in Yuanmou is made up of five areas, including the old city, Banguo, Xinhua, Jinsha, Hutiaotan and Wanbao which located within an area of 50 square kilometers.

Its representative landscape soil forest is distributed to Xinhua, Banguo, Wanbao and Tiger Leaping Beach, covering an area of 50 square km.
