| Sanya Sightseeing Highlights |
[Tianya Haijiao]
Tianya Haijiao means "the end of the sky and the corner
of the sea" in Chinese. The reason this name was given
is that this place was the farthest place ancient Chinese people
could reach, so it was considered as the end of the sky and
the corner of the sea. It is twenty kilometers from the Sanya
City, is a somber-looking beach with clear water, coconut palms
and grotesque rocks. This spot is hugely popular with Chinese
tourists who flock here to be photographed in front of the huge
rock marking the special meaning. It is too famous to miss if
you come to the Hainan island. |
[Yalong
Bay]
Yalong Bay is a well-known scenic area, 30km from the downtown.
It is honored as “Oriental Hawaii” with fantastic
scenery. In the shape of the crescent moon Seven km of white
sand stretch along beautifully clean blue water here, backed
by palm trees and lush green hills.
The water here is wonderfully clear, reflecting the blue sky
and white sand beneath the depths. Snorkeling and scuba diving
are popular pursuits here given the clear water, bright-colored
coral reefs and tropical fish that abound and this is arguably
the nicest place to swim on the entire island. This is a new
resort and development is underway in a very tasteful manner.
This is a protected marine reserve and commercial fishing is
forbidden here, keeping the water very clean and lovely for
swimming.
Facilities are also good here. This great beach is adjacent
to shops, restaurants and a museum with a pretty collection
of sea shells. There is also a charming outdoor butterfly garden
here with a mountain hiking trail and some great walks. Hot
Springs, numerous golf courses and submarine cruises are also
offered. |
[Dadonghai
Beach]

Sanya. Known as the Golden Coast in China, it is attractive
for its sunshine, coconut trees, sand beach, clouds, and the
blue sea water dotted with sails. It is a beautiful swimming
resort with warm water and flat beach. Swimming leisurely
there, picking shells, picking shells, digging for crabs,
building san castles, what a life!
