Ruins of Ancient City of Qiuci Travel Guide

Ruins of Ancient City of Qiuci, the ruins of Qiuci Ancient Kingdom, locates at Pilang Village, about two kilometers west of Kucha County. Qiuci was one of the Chinese ancient western regions. In Han and Tang Dynasty, the most flourished dynasties in China, central government set political center at Qiuci to manage western region. The Qiuci people, who belonged to European and Indian population, were good at singing and dancing.

The Ruins of Ancient City of Qiuci has perimeter of 8 kilometers, north wall of 2 kilometers, south wall of 1.8 kilometers, east wall of 1.6 kilometers, and west wall of 2.2 kilometers. The latter wall was all gone in the long history and the other three walls were still recognizable. In the year of 1985, Mr. Wenbi Huang, Chinese famous archaeologist, done excavation work and have many relics unearthed, such as stoneware, colored pottery pieces, bronze wares, suit of coins, ingots. In May 2013, Ruins of Ancient City of Qiuci was listed as the Seventh Batch of national Cultural Relics by the State Council.
