Chengde, as a famous historical city, it is rich of unique folk arts and handcrafts. The most special local souvenirs would be Teng’s Cloth-Pasted Painting which is regarded as a “unique talent of Cathay”, Fengning Paper-cutting, Summer Resort Hanging Brocade, Chengde Wood-caving, Porcelain Carved Art, and Potted landscape.

Besides local craftworks, Chengde is also well known with its variety specialty such as Almonds, Chengde mushroom, and Chestnut.
Recommended shopping places:
1. Nanyingzi Street, it is the biggest prosperous business center in Chengde; most famous brand are located in this street.
2. Puning street, it is a commercial culture street, all staffs in Puning street are dressed in Qing dynasty costumes and served in Qing curtsy . In Puning street, visitors can not only purchase specialty handcrafting, but also could enjoy the unique Qing dynasty folk performances for experience of the local life in about 400 year before.
