Wurong hill Travel Guide

Wurong hill is one part of Sanbao Dong village tourism area. “Wurong” means five banyan trees in Chinese; historically, there were five big banyan trees in the hill, with luxuriant branches and twisted roots, thus the hill is named in Wurong hill.
Wurong hill is situated at the riverside of Duliujiang in south of Guzhou town, lay 3 square kilometers. There are legendary stories in Wurong hill since ancient time. Early in Guangxu emperor of Qing dynasty (1871-1908), Yangge temple and Lingguang hall has been built in Wurong hill. During Guangxu period, other buildings were constructed, such as Guhuang pavilion, Xianlang temple, Guanyin temple ect. However, most ancient constructions were out of repair for long time and finally destroyed during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). After the Reform and Opening policy in 1978, the buildings in Wurong hill were repaired and rebuilt gradually. Nowadays, there are temples, pavilions and towers randomly around trees in Wurong hill. Tourists could even admire the whole river and Guzhou town on the hill top.

Traffic:

Jiangjunyan bridge is the only connetion between Wurong hill and Guzhou town.
