Shangrao Overview

Shangrao lies at the juncture of the Xinjiang River and the Fengxi River. The four seasons here are distinctly divided and the land is beautifully surrounded by luxuriant mountains and clear rivers. Among the many places of scenic beauty are Sanqing Mountain, Turtle Peak and the rural area in Wuyuan County. There are 48 cultural sites from the Neolithic Period and the Shang and Zhou Dynsties. The two ancient villages of Likeng and Wangkou in Wuyuan are on the list of the second batch of famous historical and clutural villages in China. Shangrao keeps improving its tourism facilities. As a result the tourism industy in Shangrao has been growing very fast.
