Turtle Peak

Turtle Peak Travel Guide

This national AAAA scenic zone takes up 136 square kilometers and is divided into three scenic areas named respectively “Unique Peaks”, “Unique Caves” and “Unique People”. The place has been renowned since ancient times for its lofty mountains, gorgeous natural scenery, Buddhist grottoes and outstanding people.

Unique Peaks
The scenic area known as “Unique Peaks” is located 10 kilometers southwest of the county town of Yiyang by National Highway No. 320. It features a typical sight of Danxia landform. The Peaks are also called “Turtle Peaks” because many rocks on them look like turtles.

Unique People
The Historical site known as “Unique People” is made up with the ancient city of Yiyang as its center and the Memorial Hall of Fang Zhimin, Dieshan Academy, the Palace of Confucian Studies and the Cultural and Forest Park in the Turtle Peaks.

Unique Caves
Along the western side of Fang Zhimin Road in the county town of Yiyang there are many natural limestone caves. These caves and a lake nearby form a gigantic rock sculpture area.

Traffic:

It is about 65 kilometer away from Shangrao, taking about 1.5 hours driving.
