Shenzhen Overview

Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city of Guangdong province in southern People´s Republic of China, situated north of Hong Kong. Shenzhen is a center of foreign investment and since the late 1970s has been one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It is also the busiest port in the PRC after Shanghai.The one-time fishing village of Shenzhen, singled out by late Chinese paramount leader Deng Xiaoping, to be the first of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in China. It was originally established in 1979 due to its proximity to Hong Kong, then a prosperous British colony. The SEZ was created to be an experimental ground of capitalism in "socialism with Chinese characteristics".The Special Economic Zone comprises Luohu, Futian, Nanshan, and Yantian but not Bao´an and Longgang.

Shenzhen is also called Peng city. it has beautiful mountains and clean sea. Her four seasons are like spring in all year round, and has rich tourism resources from natural conditions and manmade entertainment facilities. In 2004, it turned to a gorgeous modern international metropolis, an has developed into a tourism where theme park and beach resort as mainly scenery.

it has 6 city administrative districts and 4 functional areas, they are Nanshan District, Futian District south ring line, Luohu District and Yantian District is adjacent to Hongkong port, which is convenient to get access to Hongkong North district. The main scenic spots gathers in southern of Shenzhen.

Because it’s a special economic zone and frontier port, it has various cultures, and tradition and Modernity blend with each other, all countries’ food cuisine can be found here. Different cultures flourish in this city, therefore, cultural festivals and arts grow. Museum, library, memorial hall and other many cultural sites, culture industry is booming in this city.
