Tengchong Beihai Wetland Travel Guide

Tengchong Beihai Wetland, an ecological system of volcano dammed lake on plateau, locates 12.5 km northwest of Tengchong County. The wetland was listed into the first batch of national 33 key wetlands, also the only national wetland preserve area in Yunnan Province, with an area of 16 square kilometers.

Beihai Wetland has many water plants growing above the wetland year by year. It's very thick and has around 1 meter thickness, 2 meters is the most thick. Some places look like a grass islands standing on the lake, some grass islands are so thick that some visitors can even stand and walk on the grass. rowing a boat down among water grass, you would meet some wild birds flying out of the water plants while you are appreciating the pretty view where the sky and water connects together.
