It is one of the largest aquariums in China. The blue crystal structure takes up 7,500 square meters of the total construction area of 175,000 square meters. A brass octopus at the front gate is the emblem of the aquarium. It is six meters high and 11.2 meters across, making it the largest brass octopus sculpture in the world.
On display in the aquarium are more than 10,000 aquatic animals of 300-plus species, including Australian pipefish, paddlefish from the Mississippi River, Penguin from Peru, megalosaurus from the Amazon River and Chinese sturgeon. Visitors can walk through a tunnel of 80 meters long and 1.5 meters wide to admire the marvelous world of the sea.
