Arabica Coffee is a peculiar category in Xishuangbanna. The full-bodied coffee has sweet aftertaste, which is quite different from those produced in the tropical Africa.
A lot of rare medicinal herbs grow in the forest in Xishuangbanna. Among them, Xuehe, also known as Qilingsha in Chinese is the most famous. It is used in the Chinese medicine to treat injuries from falls, fractures, contusions and strains, to relieve the pain from rheumatism and to treat some gynecological diseases.
Xishuangbanna is abundant in natural resources, which wins it titles as “the Kingdom of Flora and Fauna” . One of the specialties- Pu'er Tea is really famous throughout China for its unique and mature aroma and properties of reducing cholesterol, reducing weight, promoting digestion, sobering up and relieving internal heat.The Chinese also claim that pu-erh also can lower blood alcohol after drinking, prevent dysentery, and stimulate secretions from the spleen and other organs.
Xishuangbanna is famous for its variety of tropical fruits all the year round, such as banna, pineapple, mango, dark plum, tamarind fruit, grapefruit and passion fruit. The jackfruit is the biggest fruit in Xishuangbanna, single one may reach the weight of 30kg. The passion fruit is called the "hundred fragrant fruit", when mature, it smells fragrant, with the food therapy of helping produce saliva and slake thirst; when mixing with water as the drink, it can help clear the mind and relive summer heat.
