Garzi Temple Travel Guide

Garzi Temple lies on a slope of the North in Garzi County, belongs to Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Its building style is classic mixture of Tibetan style and Han style and has more than 330 yeard history. It has one big scripture hall and ten small scripture halls and one Maitreya Temple. Those scripture halls are magnificent, as you walk around them, you can see all the vivid carvings and murals everywhere, even on the pillars.

In the temple, tourists can see lots of Tibetan style knives and old roers. It's said that those weapons were consecrated by local Tibetan families, to determine not to kill any more. It's rare seen in other temples.
