Hami Transportation

By plane
Hami airport is 12.5KM far away to Hami city. There are airlines between Hami and Urumqi, Zhengzhou and Xian. Flights from Urumqi to Hami departure everyday around a year costing CNY1300 per person; well, flight between Zhengzhou and Hami, Xian and Hami would be only viable in some day of tourist off-season. Please check the flight schedule for making itinerary.

By train
As the main city in eastern Xian, Train system in Hami is well developed. Tourists access to Hami by train. It takes 6 to 10 hours in different trains from Urumqi to Hami, 5 to 7 hours between Turpan and Hami, and 7 to 9 hours between Jiayuguan and Hami. Besides, train in Hami could also reach to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Lanzhou, Chongqing, and Chengdu. Tips: Hami is only an over-stop point of the train trip, tourists need to purchase train tickets in advance.
Train from Urumqi to Hami for your reference: T70, leaving Urumqi on 10:03am, arrival in Hami at 15:56pm.

By coach
For most travelers, access to Hami is by bus from Dunhuang, Turpan or Urumqi. There are daily buses to and from all three cities, all leaving in the morning. There is also a bus link three times a week between Hami and Jiuquan in Gansu Province, which goes through Jiayuguan.
