Shizhong Hill Travel Guide

The Shizhong Hill, or called Stone Bell Hill, stands on the southeastern bank of the Yangtze River where the river and Poyang Lake meet. High cliffs overlook both the lake and the river, thus the poetic name of this place: "Lock on the River and Lake". The hill is covered with luxuriant trees and dotted with towers and pavilions. Rocks in strange shapes are seen everywhere. Zigzagging paths lead to quiet places. Seen atop the Stone-Bell Hill the nurky water of the Yangtze River and the clear water of Poyang Lake are divided by a distinctive line. Sudongpo (1037-1101), a great scholar living in the Song Dynasty, wrote a famous piece of prose entitled "Note on Stone Bell Hill".
