Brief Introduction
Qinghai Provincial Museum, located at No.4 Weimin Alleyway, Xining, displaying 10,000 exhibits, is a nice place for those curious about Qinghai´s history and ethnic relationships.

If you don´t have much time to travel the rural parts of Qinghai, this recently opened museum is definitely worth a visit for its collection of relics that includes Mongolian pottery, Tibetan manistones (stones carved with religious script and images), and bronze coins from the Han dynasty.

Features
The permanent exhibition also features a display of traditional clothing and architecture from minority ethnic groups in Qinghai, including Tibetans, Mongolians, and Hui, and the lesser-known groups like the Tu and Sala. English descriptions are decent, though the explanations do little to explain each group´s religious beliefs and cultural habits. Still, the museum far exceeds the quality of most of its provincial counterparts.

It also has a few Silk Roda exhibits and some amazing Stone Age jade ritual implements.

You can take the bus No.9,16 or 104 from near the train station, or bus 25 from Dongguan Dajie.
