Rongjiang Overview

Rongjiang County is located in the southeast of Guizhou Province, the southern of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture.

Across the Pearl River and the Yangtze River basin, Rongjiang is located in the conjunction of Liu River, Rong River and Che River, with east of Liping County, county, bordering Leishan county, Sandu county in west, Jianhe county in north and Libo county in south. “Rong” is the Chinese name of Banyan Tree. The name of Rongjiang comes from dense banyan tree along river side.

Rongjiang is the biggest Dong minority habitation in China and also a settlement of Dong, Miao, Yao, Shui and other minorities. Rongjiang has well preserved the rich and primitive culture and customs of Dong and Miao nationality. Visiting in Rongjiang, tourists can not only admire the long history and splendid ethic culture in China, but also enjoy the beautiful and unique natural scenery.
