Mindroling Monastery Travel Guide

Mindroling Monastery, is one of the six main temple of Nyingma (Mongolian lamaism). It located in Gmthang Town of Ngagzha County, Lhoka (Shannan) Area. It was first built at the end of the 10th century and cover an area of 100,000 square meters by eminent lama Lumet Chusonsiillau.

Mingdroling Monastery pay attention to research Tibetan calendar, Tibetan characters calligraphy, Tibetan incenses and Tibetan drugs. It publish books on Tibetan characters calligraphy and join Tibetan calendar work every year. Mingdroling's Tibetan incenses and drugs are so popular, so except the main monastery, it set a branch in Lhasa.

Traffic:

15 km to Gmthang Town of Ngagzha County, no public transportation and no accommodation near the temple. And non-chinese visitors could not visit here independently.
