Luzhi Water Town Travel Guide

Luzhi Water Town, 18 kilometers away from Suzhou, is a 2500 year old water town in the south of the Yangtze River. It has a lot of rivers, bridges, lanes, ancient houses and celebrities. The main scenic spots are Baosheng Temple, Ye Shengtao Memorial Hall, Jiangnan Cultural Park, etc.

The center of Luzhi Water Town is the intersection of three main rivers -- Nanshi River, Dongshi River and Xishi river. In addition, many branches of rivers are complex, which has created a unique situation of rich rivers, bridges and waterways in Luzhi.

The streets in Luzhi are divided into two categories. One is the streets along the river, mostly shops, with a general street width of 2.5-5 meters. Another is the lanes which are perpendicular to the river, generally about 1-3 meters wide. Lanes are for dwelling houses. The longest lane is 150 meters. Some lanes could only for one person pass through.
