Hubei Provincial Museum Travel Guide
As one of the most important research and collection institution in Hubei province, established in 1953, the museum possesses a collection of 140,000 artifacts. Since 1953, the museum has collected over 200,000 cultural relics, including pottery, porcelains, jade, bronze vessels, ancient weapons, and ancient musical instruments. Among of that, the most important are the musical instruments- a complete set of 65 ritual bells in different sizes.
This museum is consisted of three parts: the Chime Bells Exhibition Hall, the Chu (770BC-476BC) Culture Exhibition Hall, and the Comprehensive Exhibition Building. The Chime Bells Exhibition Hall contains two parts: the Exhibition Hall and the Music Hall.
In the Chu Culture Exhibition Hall, there are bronze vessels, bamboo, lacquer works and wooden artifacts, and silk knitted products.
The musical instruments performance is the most attractive scenery for visitors.
