Day 1: All day program to Qiao Courtyard and Cao Courtyard. After program, transfer you back to your hotel.

This package could star from your hotel in downtown Pingyao or in downtown Taiyuan. It is about 40 km from Pingyao and 60 km from Taiyuan. In ancient China, a successful merchants' best treasure are the housings, they enlarge the courtyards again and again, generation to generation, using  exquisite decoration. These courtyards are the symbols of their status and wealth.
Your private guide and driver will meet you at 9:00 and drive you to Qiao Courtyard. It is  greatly admired as a very special artistic treasure by folklore and architect. Its overall arrangement was well-knit and its architecture was exquisite, regular as well as changeable. It was not only nice in its entirety but also special in every part. When you look down at the overall yard above ground, it just looks like "double happiness" in Chinese.
After that, we will drive about 10 km to Cao Courtyard. The highlight of Cao Family Courtyard is not only the building, but also the treasures they collected in the past several hundreds of years. There are some exhibition room for them, include Ming and Qing Dynasties folk furnitures, porcelain and treasures from oversea.
