Day 1: Urumqi,Airport Transfer

Arrive Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, with more than 3 million of population, the geographical centre of Asian continent, the farthest city from the ocean in the world. Transfer to Xinjiang Tumaris

Day 2: Regional Museum, Xinjiang grand bazzar, Khotan

Morning visit Regional Museum, Xinjiang grand bazaar, evening take flight to Khotan. Khotan is one of the main oases at the Tarim Basin, among all of China it has been famous for its three pearls—silk, carpet and jade. The silk is familiar with every family; there is a jade river which calls as Yurongkash River among the local people. The carpets made by silk or wool with its beautiful and unique Uyghur design are very famous around in and out of China. Arrives and transfer to Khotan Hotel.

Day 3: Khotan city, City Museum,Jade River,Yutian, Damko Little Temple Ruins

Morning tour around Khotan city included City Museum and Jade River. After drive to Yutian (Keriya, 290km),  en route visit Damko Little Temple Ruins which was the smallest Temple among world. Arrive and transfer to Yutian Hotel.

Day 4: Dheyan village, Takelimaken desert

After breakfast drive to the direction of Daheyan (Darya-boyi means by the river in Uyghur language), road condition not good, most of the time we will drive by the road mixed with sand and stone, but the view is so spectacular and unique .Most of the time we will drive by Yutian (Keriya) River. Today’s destination- Daheyan (Darya-boyi, which means by the river) is one of the lonely village among the Taklimakan desert, because it has been a parted from the main oasis by a long time ago and the people lived there is very local and for them to say the main oasis is just a dream some time. When people found this town and villagers here, they thought they would be a wild man as called Taklimakan Desert Man. Later it was cleared that they were living in this village surrounded by the desert by last several hundred years, living on nomadically. As the desert became larger and larger, their life became harder and harder.

Taklamakan desert is the second largest moving desert in the world and most of the people believe that it has buried most of famous civilizations among the central Asia. It has occupied land more than 345,000 square km,Taklamakan in local Uyghur language means “The desert which buried places under”, and after some western explorers explore this desert on the early of 20th century, they have given another meaning which is “One go, but never come back”.

Day 5: Trekking in Taklamakan

After local-made breakfast, start our trekking with the camels. Usually each person has one camel, and before you arrive starting point, the camels and camel were already ready and we will load the bags and all of the food, water, cooking staffs, tents, etc. Today we will start the most famous adventure around world. About the exploration among the desert, we usually do not give you a lot of details and happenings, because we come to there not for confirmations, but for the create our own experience. Everyday we will trekking about 20-25km, sometimes we will see some wild plants and trees, but most of the time is just sand dunes .Camels and well-experienced camel-men are the most reliable for us at the desert. We usually start around 9 am and camping somewhere around 5-6.Tents is prepared according to the number of people and after dinner we could have camp-fire and drinking. The most exciting thing is see the clear sky with stars; it will be your dreams at nowadays modern time.

Day 12: Mazartagh

Trekking and arrive the most famous Mazartagh, the one of the famous station and caravansary around Taklimakan desert at the ancient Silk Road times. Long time before the desert is not large and the land Silk Road still very flourished, Mazartagh was one of the very important places on the best connections between south and middle line of the Silk Road. Because it has just located on the line and by the river, and some times it has controlled the main trade, so it always was attracted by powers around. Today there still has some of the ruins from the time when this point controlled by ancient Tibetan nationality. And with your own imaginations you could have some more feelings. We will also explore the some other ruins around. Mazartagh (Mountain of Tombs)is a local name of the low mountains here as Chinese called Red and White Mountain. The mountain would change its color at the sun rise and after.

Day 13: Aksu

After breakfast trek about 2 hours and meet by the bus waiting for us. Then drive to Khotan another cross-desert highway from Khotan to Aksu, just by the river side and the landscape is very special which mixed with river and desert. Arrive and transfer to Khotan Hotel.

Day 14: villages in Khotan,Airport Transfer,Urumqi

Tour around Khotan, visit silk factory, which is located at the local village, Mulberry paper making which is only existed at Khotan now, Khotan mosque, after dinner take flight back to Urumqi, meet and transfer to Tumarist Hotel.

Day 15: Airport Transfer,Departure

Take flight back home or visit other places in Xinjiang as Turpan(2 days tour), Kashgar(could connected from Khotan),etc.
