Five preciousness of Li River, Guilin
The five
preciousness of Li River are cormorant, buffalo, mandarin fish, phoenix-tail bamboo and aged banyan.
Cormorant is a kind of bird which feeds on fish. At
night, fish man rows craft, taking along with light and cormorants, to fish. The light can attract fish and the cormorants which throats are tied
by lines only can catch but swallow fish.
- Buffalo is the main labor for paddy-field cultivation. One mature buffalo equal to three strong labors. Its strong body can pull heave iron plough so as to make the paddy field loose. After their working, they always like to have a bath on the water
And taste some green grasses.

- Mandarin fish is the specialty of the Li River. Attribute to the living environment without pollution, its fish is fresh
and sweet. It would be a shame to leave Guilin without try some mandarin fish.

The Li River is lined with phoenix-tail bamboos, making an
atmosphere of peace and seclusion.
The love story about Sister Liu and Brother A Niu is wide spread in China. The aged banyan which is
located in Yangshuo is said to be the very place folk song goddess Sister Liu dating with her lover.
