Aojiu Festival
Time: The 29th day of the first lunar month (between mid February and mid March)
What's on: It is also called the filial Piety Festival, or the Festival of Sending Poverty Away. On the day, every household in Fujian would cook porridge with glutinous rice, red sugar, jujubes, peanuts, sesame seeds, cowpeas and water chestnuts; use the porridge as the sacrificial offerings to their ancestors; and let all the familyu memebers eat the porridge as breakfast. All married daughters would bring such porridge home on the very day to present it their parents, prai\ying their parents would overcome all difficulties and be health and happy.

Pudu Festival in Fuzhou
