Hong Kong Transportation

By plane
    The airline transport is very convenient to Hong Kong from nearly 130 major cities worldwide. Within China, there are numerous flights per day between Beijing (4hr), Shanghai (2hr), Guangzhou, Guillin, and Xiamen. The new airport at Chek Lap Kok is 40 km from the city center.

By train
    You can travel by train from several cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, and Hangzhou in mainland China and arrive in Hong Kong′s Hung Hom Railway station in Kowloon.

By boat
You can go to Hong Kong by boat from either Macau or the Chinese mainland. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui the China Hong Kong Ferry Terminal serves the mainland China cities of Guangzhou, Shekou, Shanghai, Xiamen and Zhuhai.

There are customs between Hong Kong and China mainland. Firstly, tourists needed to clear customs in Shenzhen before taking bus/express/train to Hong Kong customs. After clear customs in Hong Kong port, tourists can entry Hong Kong legally. Here are some tips of Customs Clearance from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and from Guangzhou and Hong Kong for your reference. 

Express and Ferry boat from Guangzhou to Hong Kong
The express from Guangzhou to Hong Kong departure about every 40mins, costing 300 RMB or 330 RMB per person.
Ferry boat from Guangzhou Shunde dock to Lotus Hill dock to China Hong Kong City wharf. Cost 175RMB per person. Ferry boat departures Shunde dock at 08:30am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 15:00pm, 17:30pm and 20:30pm. Ferry boat departures Lotus Hill dock at 08:30am, 10:20am, 13:20am, 15:20pm and 180:00pm.

Taking express from Shenzhen to Hong Kong.
a.    Express to Hong Kong international airport. The express departures from 08:20am to 21:20pm in every 20mins, costing around RMB200 per adult and RMB110 per child.
b.    Express to Kowloon, departures from 08:20am to 23:30pm in every 20mins, costing around RMB110 per adult and RMB80 per child.
c.    Express to Wanchai in Hong Kong, departures from 08:20am to 23:30pm in every 20mins, costing around RMB110 per adult and RMB80 per child.
d.    Express to Disney Land in Hong Kong, departures from 08:20am to 11:00pm in every 20mins, costing around RMB160 per person.
e.    Express to Kowloon MTR station, departures from 09:30am to 21:00pm in every 30mins, costing around RMB90 per person.
Information of Control Points in Shenzhen 
1.    Arrival in Shenzhen train station, taking taking express or train to Hong Kong from Shenzhen Luo Fu Control Point. This is the most popular Control point in Shenzhen, opening from 06:30am to 24:00pm and taking 15mins to 30mins for the queue. 
2.    Taking express or train to Hong Kong airport from Huanggang Port Control Point. The control point opens 24 hours. 15mins to 30mins is also needed for the queue.
3.    Futian Port Control Point, Sha Tau Kok Control Point and Shenzhen Bay Control Point ect. are also busy ports between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
